Public service has always been my strong interest and I have the time to serve. My priority is to address and help solve the problems of all Idahoans in a reasonable and fair way. Thus, I work to solve the Boise Bench's "brown water" issue; press for fair property taxes; fight against extreme laws that create more problems than they solve; and work to support education so that our kids fill the new jobs Micron and others bring to our area. Fighting inflation is a priority and I support repealing he grocery tax or doubling the credit. Property value assessment inflation needs urgent attention.
My children attended Monroe, South, Borah and Idaho universities and I understand how important competent school personnel and facilities are for success. Listening to thousands of my constituents is tremendously important. I have attended, listened and testified before State or local government committees many times. Service in the army, as an attorney, and an irrigation district director help me understand many diverse issues. As an attorney I represented small businesses and several thousand people from all backgrounds and economic circumstances, including low income legal aid client work from time to time. Service on the legislative finance, transportation, judiciary, and other committees is a tremendous help in evaluating legislation.
Inflation is a tremendous challenge, and the State of Idaho will not be spared in dealing with increased expenses and labor costs. A 9% Mountain Inflation rate means employees will look for a 9% increase in pay, just to stay even. Agency spending on higher priced goods means higher budgets. Fair property taxes are another challenge. Many homes have seen property taxes double in five years, while other properties decline. Assessment inflation must be addressed. Some advocate a shift of much of the property tax onto the sales tax, but this will cause an additional increase in the cost of goods - inflation. Other challenges include some of the extreme ideas that create more problems than they solve.
Thank you for the opportunity you are giving candidates to communicate their views. My pledge is to support and advocate reasonable solutions which benefit Idahoans, and to always consult with and consider the views of the people of the Boise Bench, and Southwest Ada County which is now included in District 17.

My hope and goal would be to be a voice for the American people and specifically for the Idahoans in District 17 and if elected, bring their concerns and needs before the legislature. I am concerned about growing our government and believe we need to return to the way our Constitution was created where our government is "by the people and for the people". I want to strive to create solutions, build bridges and lessen division in our legislature and solve actual problems and issues that face the beautiful state of Idaho. I will always strive to put Idahoans needs first and foremost with any bill that passes my desk.
Despite not holding a political office prior to this, I do believe some of my life experiences will provide excellent tools to help navigate my way through. As a mother of 4 almost grown children, I've had to problem solve, navigate facts from lies and grow in patience and determination. As a small business owner I have experience in relating to the needs of people, excellent public relations as well as administrative and business solutions to solve critical problems or issues within systems. As a homeschool mom, I understand civics and the state and federal constitution that enables me the knowledge to stand behind it with confidence and diligence when faced with certain pieces of legislation that I can study and examine.
In the last 6 months as I've traveled throughout District 17 neighborhoods and had many conversations with neighbors. It seems that most are concerned with our growth and infrastructure here in the valley as well as increase in food, gas and crime. I believe people are concerned that the Idaho that "once was" is quickly slipping away and that bigger government and more taxation is hurting Idahoans more than helping. Property taxes are a very large concern with my neighbors and I will work with my fellow legislatures to lessen the tax burden and hopefully give back the money that is rightfully Idahoans.
I do not advertise myself as a politician nor try to behave as one either. I am your neighbor, friend, local business owner and fellow Idahoan - I will do my best to be your voice and represent the heart of the people and the real concerns of District 17 and not lobbyist groups or government desires or even big tech organizations that might try and cooerce me to vote a certain way. I will never waver from our constitution and will always look to problem solve and create solutions for all issues we might face here in Idaho.
