The growth of our county is the greatest current challenge, it will require the coroner's office to grow to fit the needs of the expanding community. This can be done with more education of the coroner and its deputies, by learning to use all available resources when needed. While being the coroner for the last several months the things that are most alarming to me are the increased number of suicides as well as the death related to fentanyl. We need to do MORE to get the word out to combat both problems in our communities County wide!
I have worked closely with multiple coroners and Justices of the Peace throughout my lifetime in my industry. I cannot say that I know everything I need to know about the coroner's position, I know I learn something new every day.
I would always be available to the people in my community. The ENTIRE community that being Eden, Hazelton and Jerome. We have most recently sat down with a local suicide prevention group to try to build some community outreach.
