First priority is to responsibly represent District #1. We have many different opinions regarding the state of our District. We are experiencing considerable population growth. Our public services and infrastructure systems are strained. We need to focus on what we agree on (community needs, foundations for residents and business, public safety) and work on those issues. The US and State Constitutions serve as our guiding documents. We need to stay within them and determine the best decisions for our District. By regularly communicating (and listening) to the citizens, business owners and service providers of the District, I will be best positioned to represent their needs and priorities.
I worked in the Fire Service for 30 years. The last 8 years were as Fire Chief. Afterward I served 3 more years in City Administration. I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Administration while working full-time. Since retiring in 2012 I have volunteered with my local high school, become a family forester and worked for my local fire district doing administrative work. I have the time, experience and motivation to serve District 1 as a responsible representative.
Job Growth/Support… Idaho businesses are thriving due to a strong economy and limited regulations. We need to sustain our business environment, provide needed infrastructure and give employers the freedom to create jobs. Our education system is the equally important. It provides the necessary training for students to advance into good jobs and careers.

Community Safety....We need to support our Law Enforcement, Fire Service and EMS community with the tools they need to provide their emergency services.

Improve the Fairness of our Tax system....We need to take a comprehensive look at our tax system. As a representative I will do what I can to improve the fairness of our system and reduce our property and grocery taxes.
Serving our community is part of the fabric of our country. I have lived a life of service and want to continue it. I have a strong work ethic and the determination to listen and learn from our District residents, business owners and service providers.
