Your Experience/Qualificatons I have had the honor to serve the Salem area for the last 30 years, as their State Senator, House Representative, City Council Member, and on the Transit Board. In that time I have worked to prioritize education, grow small businesses, protect and keep kids healthy, and help our seniors. I know being an Oregonian means something special, and I have been a leader on some of the most historic achievements that have made Oregon a better place to live.

Your Experience/Qualificatons I am a problem solver- a solutions advocate, and I have been all my life. I’ve worked on 80 pieces of legislation, written 60 of those, and passed 80% of them. My experience as a program manager, a business leader, serving as a veteran’s advocate and my community involvement provides the experience to be successful representing the great people of Senate District 11.

A public/private partnership is the only way to stay ahead of Cybersecurity issues. Oregon is vulnerable now. We beed ongoing audits of vulnerabilities, and we need to establish priorities for oversight. Then we should partner with a company that can help prepare for breaches. The State cannot fo this on its own.
My company has worked on resilient planning for the CSZ event. We can establish “survive in place” systems for energy and fuels to be made with renewable resources to be used to bring water from wells, transport emergency goods, etc. We need to be more responsive to the suggestions from the Oregon resilience plan, and we need to store food and supplies, as well as retrofit certain bridges in our communities to aid in recovery. Forest fires in Oregon requires a more effective management.
With excellent forest management, we can protect our natural resources from forest fire waste and prevent GHG pollution, while at the same time generate billions from sales of better managed timber resources. I propose that we either have federal forests returned to Oregon, or establish a lease agreement to better manage 3rd and 4th gen stands, and create fire breaks and reduce undergrowth. I am working on a 12-year plan as part of the solution for unfunded liabilities and infrastructure.
