I am running again for ward councilman to continue to build upon the services that I have offered the residents of my ward for the past sixteen years. With a new mayor being elected, this offers new opportunities to promote ideas I have proposed over the past few terms regarding economic development and new zoning classifications and enforcement of zoning codes that have not been addressed under previous administrations. I also offer a unique fiscal prospective as a local business owner who has extensive experience working with local and national companies in real estate development and investing.
Over the next four years, I would like to improve the flow of traffic, increase the economic development of the city via a marketing plan that is modern and works, and maintain the infrastructure to benefit the residents.
We need to change our existing grant and business incentive program to recruit new businesses and to help our existing businesses expand. A new marketing plan needs to be properly drafted to achieve our goals. Solon needs to work with ODOT and our engineers to adjust traffic flow.
Education The Ohio State University, College of Medicine, Allied Medicine, Medical Imaging, B.S.
Current occupation Retired
Qualifications for office I have a very robust career in two large university systems (University of Rochester and the University of Michigan) plus business careers in two fortune 10 companies (General Electric and Philips Healthcare). I am very experienced in complex environments - similar to government - and with critical decision making, with focus on the customer (our residents). I am well prepared for a seat on City Council.

Government leaders don't understand that Solon is aging and that firm steps must be taken to support our current standard of living in the following ways.

#1: The number of residents without children in our top rated school system is rapidly declining. We must engage all residents on the importance of supporting our schools, even if they don't have children in them. We can't continue to leave school support to the Board of Education, PTA and Boosters. School support is critical to maintaining our property values, so all residents need to become aware of the link between our great schools and our property values.

#2: In addition, there is very little raw land available for larger business to buy and build on. City leadership must be far more aggressive to help existing business to expand and to fill the vacant building that seriously detract from our city.

#1: I will engage all residents, not just those with children in school, that we all need to support the schools in all ways, including potential future levies in order to protect our home values. If the schools are neglected, the value of our homes will be at risk.

#2: Create in-depth Council town halls for current and prospective business owners to fully understand (root solutions) what is needed from Council to promote organic growth, attract far more small and medium business and to fill the vacant buildings that seriously detract from our great city. Create extreme outreach programs to attract small and medium business to locate and grow in Solon.
As stated above, the city is aging in population and available land. We must take strong steps to protect our great schools that contribute to our home values and to find root solutions in order to grow existing businesses and to attract new businesses. logo
