Experience (300 characters max) We have lived in the district since 1977. I spent three years in the Army. My profession has been Agriculture Economics working for NRCS. I have worked on resource issues at the local, county, regional, and national level. I have project experience.. I have conflict resolution experience.
Dave Clouse decided not to run for reelection. I thought he did a good job and I had no desire to oppose him. I was happy helping out as a volunteer. Last November I had a heart attack while working in the barn. Spokane County Fire District 5 saved my life. I believe we as a community should provide basic emergency and fire services to as many of our 2000 community members as reasonably possible. If I lived on Richie Road I would have died. Reducing community fire insurance cost is a goal. After we get station 53 operating, we will enhance support for Devils Gap community members. Goal of 95% of us will have address signs. Seventy five percent of us will have a free fire wise assessments and implement the plan. Community goal of 80% participation in Ready, Set, Go. Increase our emergency support level to be ready for a 30 day power outage. Replace equipment and vehicles on a schedule. Most important increase public participation. We welcome your ideas, help and support.
We need to get the Wood Road-Coulee Hite Station built and operating, Increase public participation, Continue to implement Fire Wise.
I believe all three need to be addressed.
I have experience in both the public and private sector. I have experience at the city, county, state, regional, and national level. I have been in the livestock business, logging, and farming. I have military experience and I have worked with many different natural resource districts across the country . I have been involved in various natural resource projects from start to finish. I am honest and have the ability to put community interest above self interest. I have provided depositions for five court proceedings. My work has been accepted by both sides in all cases, I was told the two sections I wrote for the farm bill were accepted as written by the republicans, democrats, producer and environmental interest. I was up in a helicopter doing a damage assessment five days after Mt. St, Helens erupted. I have some fire experience and training with the Forest Service and private logging companies. I have helped the district obtain grant funding, logo
