Okanogan Town Of Winthrop Mayor

The mayor shall be the chief executive and administrative officer of the city, in charge of all departments and employees, with authority to designate assistants and department heads. He or she shall see that all laws and ordinances are faithfully enforced and that law and order is maintained in the city, and shall have general supervision of the administration of city government and all city interests. The mayor essentially serves as both the leader in name of the city, and the day-to-day active city manager.

Experience (300 characters max) 20 year resident of Winthrop. Experienced business owner both retail and hospitality. Skilled in multiple agency negotiating. Understand the necessity of maintaining staff relationships, communications, budgeting, taxes and have a working knowledge of construction permitting and planning.
As a resident of Winthrop I am concerned about the disorganization and lack of communication with town officials, committees and the citizens of Winthrop. Tourism and business growth have been the main focus, the people need a voice to assure our quality of life in this unique community.
Law enforcement and maintaining a visible police department. Public works staffing and equipment replacement for maintenance department. Upgrading infrastructure to accommodate growth.
Staffing of departments.
We have a very active senior community. I would like to continue and enhance Methow at Home programs and access to services, transportation.
We should have a welcoming and open policy.
Keeping up with growth and implement a plan for replacement of water and sewer lines in older neighborhoods. Create subsidies for replacement feeder lines to low income property owners.
Encourage affordable housing and full time home rentals by limiting the number of nightly home rentals (AirBB, VRBO). logo
