Jonothan, the step-son of a boat builder and sailor, grew up on the water, sailing and living aboard his family boat as a child, traveling all over the world. After college, he has made a living around the waterfront with over 35 years working in the maritime industry.
I am running for this position to use my experience to help the port set up for the future. I want to be a part of this city and believe that this position is a good fit to help out.
Having a USCG Master license since I was 20 years of age, I have operated private yachts, project managed the building of private and commercial vessels locally and abroad, managed the repair of US Navy vessels, and has operated a local small marina/boat repair facility. My construction budgets have exceeded $120 million. I have studied English Literature at Shoreline Community College, and has Project Management Certifications from Everett Community College.
My priorities as a Port Commissioner will be to promote and oversee the marina infrastructure projects that are long overdue, foster a better working relationship with the Poulsbo City Council, work closely with the small business owners of the downtown area and ensure that the permanent boaters of the marina and tax paying citizens are well represented.
The marina infrastructure rebuilding is the most important item to fix.
The most important issue with the port is getting the public to understand the economic importance that the marina brings to the entire zip code, 98370.
