I am the product of a military family and come from a long line of first responders, believing that emergency medical and disaster response is part of my responsibility in my community. I am proud that my sons have followed in the family tradition dating back to my great grandmother and grandmother who rolled bandages and gave medical training to new mothers. I am too old to be a firefighter. But by nature and skill set, I would support and to protect our fire district. A 6 year commitment as your commissioner my responsibilities are to the public protection of life and property. My job would be to budget, establishing policies in operations goals with training and equipment whenever possible. Supporting and respecting the Fire Departments chain of command.
*The budgetary challenge of receiving less timber revenue, With the decline in timber harvesting we received less on timber sales. With a volunteer group people have to weigh working a full time job and responding to a fire call. We need trained people who are available during different parts of the day.
