Unfortunately there are many challenges currently facing our school district, the greatest of which is the strong division among the residents of our Community over recent school bond issues. Many residents recognize that there are issues with the current High School, but the Community is passionately at odds over the right course of action. All opinions and perspectives are important and should be considered. As the father of two young boys just starting out in the school district, my main goal is to aid in bringing the Community together as one. I would like to open up the lines of communication and help the Community work together to develop workable solutions that provide the best outcomes for the Crestwood School Community.

Crestwood must continue educating ALL our kids to focus on building skills demanded by today's employers and colleges such as collaboration and teamwork, creativity and imagination, critical thinking, and problem solving. Our facilities must allow for the best teaching and learning environment possible for our kids. In addition to the challenges of providing ALL our students a safe, secure, ADA compliant, and modern facility in which to learn, we must address our continuing declining student enrollment and ever-dropping State funding locally. Per the OSBA's Code of Ethics, we accept the responsibility to improve education with the first and greatest concern being the educational welfare of our students. We must work harder than ever with our community, hand in hand, to carefully make difficult and necessary choices, while providing ALL our kids an education that prepares them for the future. Despite many new and continuing challenges, I believe Crestwood's best days are yet to come.
