What are your qualifications for office? (250 character limit)

If elected, what will be your top 3 priorities? (500 character limit)

Education Xavier University, BA, English; Northwestern University, MS, Journalism
Occupation My professional background is in writing and communications.
Experience Amberley Council, 2006-11, 2013-present; non-profit board member & volunteer; blogger; communication consultant; parent
Political Philosophy At the local level, especially in a village, the focus of government is on delivery of essential services like police, fire, recreation & public works, increasingly in an environment of limited resources. Open processes in which residents can be informed about decisions, policies and initiatives, and contribute their views on them, are the foundation.
I have significant experience with Amberley Council and other community organizations, particularly non-profit boards. I’m a team player, and I listen carefully, think clearly and speak frankly.
In the coming term, my top 3 priorities are to continue supporting top-notch police/fire services, to advocate for clear, open processes in relation to development at former Gibson & Amberley Green properties, and to promote a closer connection to our neighborhood school.
