I have worked in management for the last 27 years, in construction, manufacturing, printing, automotive and aerospace so I have a very diversified work experience. I have a proven track record that I am a very hard worker with strong ethics and dedication to the school and tax payers of Goshen. I am currently the Director, Operation, Facilities, Maintenance and EHS for the largest aerospace repair shop in the US, with over 560 employees. We are in the process of setting up another 208,000 sqft facility due to us out growing our current facility. I understand business and keeping a solid budget, which I have strived for the last twelve years I have served this district while meeting the district goals of giving our students a great education.
The biggest challenges the district has, is the uncertainty of the State of Ohio with budgets cuts and how they continue to fund public education. Lot of dollars are being shifted to charter schools which are not held to the same standards that public schools are. We need to make sure everyone is sending letters or calling their local representatives or the state voicing your concerns regarding public education funding.

We are experiencing growth in the district, based on some reports, and studies showing housing is up and appears to continue. The district continues to be pro-active and looking at our options that way we will be ready to make the adjustments as needed to make sure we meet our students needs.
I am in my 12 year on the board and my focus is still the same as it was when I ran in my first term. I am a servant to the children and tax payers of Goshen to make sure we continue to give the best education while maintaining a balance budget. We strive to make sure we spend our tax dollars on programs that work on helping all children of Goshen. No personal agenda as we are one vote and work hard to make the right decision.

Our administrators work hard to make sure they review the best programs and bring the data back to the board to be able to justify and support what they need for our students. I have always stressed, just because it worked last year is it right now. I will continue to support our students and the tax payers making the best decision to continue to move our district forward.

I have been on the Goshen Local School Board for 20 years and the Great Oaks Board of Directors for 16 years. During that time I have served as Pesident and Vice President of both Boards. I have also served on Regional, State and National Committees connected with both Boards. These positions have helped me to make differences in many students lives. Being an advocate for students to be successful has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. I have served on committees at the Goshen United Methodist church, of which I am a member, and many of those are community and educational based. Being a parent, grandparent and relative of gifted and special need students has helped me to look at the academic needs of all types of students.
The biggest challenge is to continue to meet the needs of our students in the ever changing society and State of Ohio requirements. We want to prepare our students to be college and career ready when they leave the doors of our school district. The world is changing and we have to prepare students for a world that will continue to change. Goshen students deserve the very best education as far as academics, athletics, extra curricular activities, social and emotional needs. Our challenge is to provide that. Many times our schools the best support system our students have in their lives and we need to be there to provide that support.
I hope to continue to support the excellent teachers, administrators, all staff, and most of all students in continuing the Goshen Local Schools tradition of excellence. I want to continue to help provide the very best education in a fiscally responsible manner. logo
