In my career, I have taken on several leadership roles and the responsibilities that go along with that. From organizing internal processes to representing the company at Chamber events, I have never been shy about taking on extra and working hard to achieve results.

Outside of work, I serve on several volunteer boards and advisory panels. I have served The Center Avenue Neighborhood Association, The Boy Scouts of America, The Bay Arenac ISD Emerging Technologies Advisory Panel, and once it is up and running, I will be working with Connect Michigan, Bay to bring high speed internet to the rural areas of Bay County.
The most immediate issue we face is with our bridges. I do not support a toll model and will work to pass a county-wide millage that improves infrastructure throughout the county including our bridges.

Our second issue is good paying jobs. Jobs tie into every other problem that the city faces, declining population, deteriorating homes, our crumbling infrastructure, drug use, and the recent uptick in crime can all be tied back to jobs. We need to talk to businesses and give them what they need to grow. If each business in our city could add just one job, that would be a game changer.
I think that the health of the whole needs to be a priority. I would absolutely love to see more growth in our Ward, but we are small. Improvements in one part of the City are almost always going to help all of the other parts. Fixing McKinley in front of Washington Elementary may mean that one of our roads must wait another year, but First Ward residents still benefit as many of their kids go to Washington.

At the same time, I would like to see some playground equipment added back to Maplewood Park. I think that the other commissioners will recognize that a playground there would benefit the whole city, too.

I have been involved with city government as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for over past Five Years. Making educated decisions that will make positive changes for our local citizens and business in the city. I have a proven voting record that is what the citizens want and need. I also sat on the city Board voting against raising the commissioners and mayor pay.
The most pressing issue is our current is housing rates and values to the citizens. In order to correct this we need to recruit both family and large corporations to open business here with in city. With new jobs the residents home values will rise. Second we need to look at stopping the rising water, sewer, and Electric rates. The residents can not afford higher rates. City needs to look at other options to save money. I plan to hold bi weekly meeting if elected to discuss the issues on hand and get feed back on what the residents want for me to do. Commissioner are elected to represent the people and need to held accountable to be the voice of the residents of the city. I will be a leader that will be the voice and do whatbis best for the residents.
I will hold bi weekly open meeting to hear from the residents. I will have set times daily to talk and visit with the residents. Will have a set standards to return calls, email or other means of communication that residents send to me to address facing concerns. logo
