Political Philosophy All government should be local - residents should expect to be able to talk to their representative about local problems. My philosophy is this: if I wouldn't want it in MY neighborhood, why should it be in YOUR neighborhood. As Norwood finds itself in a financial crisis, we need to be especially mindful of how we spend tax dollars. As a member of the Financial Planning & Supervision Commission, I can assure that our plan for recovery is followed & we plan for our future appropriately
I have been President of Council for 6 years, previously served on Council & was former Health Commissioner. I am currently a member of the Financial Planning & Supervision Commission to oversee financial recovery & fiscal responsibility.
1. Fiscal Recovery - Follow the "Financial Recovery Plan" that was adopted in order to get our fiscal house in order. We need to change the way we do business & examine every dollar spent to assure fiscal responsibility while maintaining critical services for the community. 2. Develop a street resurfacing plan - Our streets are in desperate need of repair. Examine every street; estimate cost; develop 10-year replacement plan. 3. Take advantage of grant opportunities for park improvements.
