The most important issue to me is keeping taxes down without sacrificing safety. We accomplish this by growing our tax base. Smart development brings outside buyers. thus increasing sales tax. Not continuously increasing property taxes.
We need to find space that can accommodate additional housing and related parking. Affordable housing is a relative term. Owners of these properties must be kept accountable. I see properties not being maintained as I walk the district.

Residents here have consistently mentioned safety and taxes as key issues. One of the public safety issues is speeding through residential neighborhoods. As a father of two young children, I absolutely agree. I would work with my colleagues on Council to pass legislation that would curb speeding in these areas. Being on the 1st Pct Community Council allows me to listen to our issues and strengthen my relationship with our local police force.
As Chair of the City of Yonkers Commission on Human Rights, I realize the importance of affordable housing here. In the past few years, City Council has taken small steps to ensure that there is enough housing for all. However, setting aside 10% of buildings with more than 100 units is only the first step. While revitalizing the waterfront is a key piece to the future success of Yonkers, I do not support pricing out the current residents, many of whom have spent their entire lives here.

There are many issues facing my office:

- Education - Taxes - Public Safety - Quality of life

I will approach them with an open mind, and represent the majority of the opinions in the 6th District, as well as the City of Yonkers.
Our community in the 6th District is very diverse and there are plenty of opportunities for fair and affordable housing. logo
