Engagement is essential to good local government: determining together what our priorities are, listening to each other, recognizing that none of us will "win" every debate. Balance is key, whether it's regulating leafblowers, revamping the parking rules, or preserving our historical heritage. On a practical level, we must ensure transparency, fiscal responsibility, and accountability. It is the role of the Board and Mayor to make the decisions that reflect this process.
I am committed to increasing fair and affordable housing in Irvington. The Irvington Housing Committee was my first foray into local government; I am proud to have been part of the process that led to the adoption of Accessory and In-Law apartment regulations. The Village has adopted the model statute requiring all new developments to include fair and affordable units, and our Board actively pursues this mandate. Increasing diversity remains a goals and a challenge. logo
