My husband and I moved into Harper Woods in 1987 and have raised our three children in this community. My first run for city council arose from my involvement with parents at Beacon School who encouraged me to get involved politically. Since that time, I have been proud to represent the concerns of residents on our Council. Throughout my time on Council, I have worked diligently to maintain important city services even through the financial downturn of the housing collapse. I have worked to improve community infrastructure that will allow us to grow. I believe people can rely on me to continue to make decisions with our best interest in mind.
Harper Woods has always had a wonderful small town feel that we can't lose. We have weathered the worst of the financial downturn and are beginning to see real stability in our government. Our challenges, however, are not over. We need to have a clear vision of the future. A vision centered on strength as a community. Eastland Mall and all businesses are facing changes that will have an effect on our city. Kelly Road has also been a challenge. How will we face these changes? How can we encourage community building and a strong sense of neighborhood? Our future depends on making our city a safe place to live, raise a family, build a business logo
