1.We need to responsibly manage finances and spending in these harsh economic times. Expenses are outpacing income. We have a 35% poverty rate and declining enrollment. 2.Student achievement levels must remain a focus. HASD has unusually small class sizes of 16-18 students yet achievement levels have not increased. 3.I do not believe that it is necessary for a brand new elementary school to be built or new property purchased.Time to live within our means.
Education Halifax Area School District Lebanon Valley College, Bachelor of Science in Music Education
Qualifications I am a lifelong Halifax resident who has gone through the school system, supports community events and my own kids’ events, volunteers through my church, and delivers Meals on Wheels. I have been a substitute teacher in the district on and off for almost 20 years (I will no longer be able to sub in Halifax if I am elected). I pay attention and listen to all sides. I have been regularly attending board meetings for a few years, and wish all parents, taxpayers, and voters would do the same.

1. Provide our students with the best education possible by supporting the administration, faculty, and families as they work to prepare students for success in a world of unknown possibilities.

2. Provide sound financial decision-making so that our community can be adequately prepared to face challenges both old and new.

3. Establish dialogue between taxpayers and the district, supporting a relationship that does not burden the community, but rather enriches all of us, youngest to oldest. logo
