NORTHFIELD TOWNSHIPFire Service and Medical Rescue Millage ProposalThis proposal will allow the Township to levy 2.5 mills (reduced to 2.4206 due to Headlee) to fund. fire service and medical rescue in Northfield Township for 5 years beginning December 2027, annually adjusted downward due to the Headlee Amendment.Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property within Northfield Township, County of Washtenaw, Michigan, be collected in an amount not to exceed 2.5 mills ($2.50 on each $1,000.00 of taxable value), for a period of 5 years, beginning with the 2027 Winter tax bill and ending with the 2031 Winter tax bill, inclusive, as a renewal of the current millage (2.4206 mills due to Headlee rollback from 2.5) which expires after the 2026 Winter tax collection, to provide funds for fire services and medical rescue including operations, staffing, equipment purchase, and maintenance? It is estimated that 2.5 mills would raise approximately $ 1,339,796.7 when first levied in December 2027.
