I have a number of interests but for the sake of this there are three.
Find better solutions to reduce traffic congestion not only on and off the bridge but on the Island itself. Traffic lights that delay traffic to allow one or two cars to pass through the intersection is an unnecessary delay.
Address the issue of whether or not Town should have its own police department or to continue to use the Sheriff with some modifications.
On all issues to first obtain the data , then come up with a plan, present the matter to the public, make adjustments thought appropriate after public comment in a timely manner and take action without delay
The issue is to determine what level of safety you want to have so you can use that to determine the cost so you can decide whether it makes more sense to continue with the Sheriff or to have the Town's own police department. You need to set the guiding principles of what you want and work from that to gather the data needed to make the decision. It involves many aspects and cost is one and how to pay for that cost. Look at the cost/benefit ratio and make a decision to achieve those goals and to meet the guiding principles. Will it raise taxes if the Town has its own police department is one issue is a concern.
I would us a public hearing type forum inviting all citizens to attend . Then the Town brings the community up to date on the status.
Then the public is allowed to comments as much as they would like with a time limit per person.
Update the LMO so growth fits the Island rather than forcing the Island to fit the code. Strengthen wetland and tree protection . Tailor development standards to the character and needs of individual neighborhoods specifically Gullah Geechee historic neighbor hoods . Direct future growth toward development that will preserve Hilton Head's distinctive character

First and foremost, I am committed to preserving, protecting, and enhancing the place we call home. Every decision made at the Town Council level should be guided by what is in the best interest of Hilton Head Island residents and the quality of life we value.
I have four major objectives I would like to pursue.
1. Freezing local property taxes for resident homeowners 65 and over.
2. Increase the visibility of law enforcement to enhance safety and promote deterrence.
3. Continue the work of the previous council and Sea Pines Resort to improve traffic flow throughout the island especially from the Sea Pines circle to the beach areas.
4. Protect the natural environment by managing growth in a sustainable way.
Hilton Head Island has long been considered a safe place to live, work, and visit.
We will have a new Sheriff after the election and I plan to meet with him after taking office to discuss our residents concerns and formulate plans to address those issues. We need to increase law enforcement visibility to improve our deterrence efforts and place officers in high traffic areas including the beach.
No single initiative can address every public safety concern. A comprehensive approach combining effective code enforcement, appropriate law enforcement resources and new technology, can help identify and address concerns proactively.
In 2026, communication can best be summed up this way: "one size does not fit all"

While technology has changed how we communicate, not everyone receives—or trusts—information from the same sources. Websites, email, text messaging, social media, direct mail, and other forms of communication all have a role in keeping residents informed.
As a member of Town Council, I promise to communicate in ways that effectively reach all residents. I will use multiple communication channels, from traditional methods to the latest technology to ensure everyone receives updates in a manner most comfortable to the end user.
Most importantly, communication from Town government should be straightforward, factual, transparent, and accessible.
When it comes to land management on Hilton Head Island, one thing is certain, we live on an island and the land mass is finite, the island is not going to get any bigger. And if the scientists are correct, we may even have less land mass in the future. It is critically important to manage our resources in a responsible way to ensure the quality of life for our residents and the future of our children and grandchildren. Development must consider all stakeholders to ensure we are meeting the moment and considering the future impacts. We all have concerns about traffic, public safety, open space and quality of life. Managing our resources to improve and enhance quality of life must be top of mind when approving land use in Hilton Head.
