The Hilton Head Public Service District (PSD) is a special purpose district created to provide water and sewer services to Hilton Head. Hilton Head Public Service District's mission is to:Provide high quality drinking water, wastewater treatment and recycled water services to present and future customers;Deliver those services in a cost-effective, equitable, sustainable and timely manner;Maintain sensitivity to the water and recycled water needs of the community;Contribute to the improvement of public health and the environment; andServe as a platform for enabling economic development.The commissioners are elected to four-year terms during general election cycles, from seven single-member voting districts within the PSD service area. The Commission’s duties include setting the policies and long-term goals of the PSD, and approving the annual operating budget and PSD property tax rate. The Commission also selects and employs the PSD’s general manager.
