The duties of a City Council member are to represent the citizens of Green Forest, listen to their concerns, and help make decisions that improve our community. The council works with the mayor and city departments to set priorities, approve budgets and expenditures, adopt ordinances, and make decisions about city services, infrastructure, public safety, and future growth. A council member should also provide responsible oversight of city finances and make decisions based on what is best for the entire community.
My experience as a Production Manager has prepared me to take on this position. In my role, I make important decisions every day, lead a team, solve problems, and work toward common goals. I am responsible for managing a budget while making sure our equipment and operations are maintained properly and continue to run efficiently. This experience has taught me how to balance priorities, be responsible with resources, work with different people, and make decisions that affect the success of the entire operation. I believe these skills will help me serve the citizens of Green Forest responsibly and effectively.
My first priority will be working with the mayor, council, city employees, and citizens to identify ways we can improve growth and maintain our infrastructure, including roads, parks, and traffic lights. I know this is not a one-person job, and I’m willing to learn the city’s budget and work with others to find responsible solutions. I believe Green Forest has great potential, and I want to help move our community forward.
