I bring a combination of public service leadership, legal process experience, and community engagement that aligns with the duties of a Constable. As the elected Center Township Constable, I have experience serving court documents, coordinating evictions lawfully, and ensuring safety and compliance. My background includes work in the Marion Superior Court, law enforcement training, and statewide leadership in youth services. I am committed to professionalism, accountability, and treating all residents with dignity while upholding the law efficiently and fairly.
The greatest challenges include maintaining professionalism and accountability, adapting to changes in law and policy, and continuing to rebuild public trust. As the incumbent, I have already taken steps to address these challenges by implementing background checks and mandatory training for all deputies, strengthening standards and oversight, and using technology to improve operations and communication. Moving forward, I will build on this progress, improve where needed, and continue working to ensure an efficient, fair, transparent, and responsive Constable’s Office.
I would prioritize building on the reforms my administration has already put in place, including mandatory deputy training, comprehensive background checks, stronger accountability standards, and the modernization of our forced move-out request process. We will continue using technology to improve efficiency and transparency, strengthen partnerships with local law enforcement, and expand community engagement. I will also continue developing our Junior Deputy Constable internship program to expose young people to public service and law enforcement careers.
One of our greatest challenges has been cleaning up the office, restoring integrity, rebuilding public trust, and strengthening relationships with the courts and law enforcement community. We have made significant progress by implementing stronger accountability, mandatory training, comprehensive background checks, and modernizing operations. Challenges remain, including evolving laws, growing caseloads, and maintaining consistent standards. I will continue building on our progress, using technology, training, transparency, and strong partnerships to better serve the community.
Since taking office in Nov. 2024, I have used this role to create opportunities and strengthen community partnerships. In collaboration with the Madam Walker Legacy Center, we created the Legacy Leaders Program to equip people interested in public service, with two cohorts already completing the program. We also created a Junior Deputy Constable Program to expose young people to law enforcement careers and provide in-kind support to community events, including Madam Walker Legacy Fest and the Mike Epps Community Fest. In recognition of this work, the Center for Leadership Development honored our office with its Public Service Award in March 2026. We will continue making community service, mentorship, engagement, and trust-building center.
