Being a city council person is more than just voting at a meeting; it is asking hard questions, listening to citizens, and ensuring that the city is being a good steward of taxpayers’ funds. Being a council person is listening to concerns and working toward solutions to those concerns.

One of the most important jobs I do is being a voice for the people who are not able to be at the meeting—to represent all of the people in Booneville, not just the people who live in my ward.

I am very involved in the community, and I have several leadership positions that allow me to come into contact with a wide range of people. I understand that people have bad days and sometimes just want someone to listen to them.

Most importantly, I care about Booneville and the people who call it home. I want to ensure that Booneville is better because I was here and that I leave it better than I found it.

I believe Booneville’s two biggest needs are food insecurity and maternal health care. I am working with organizations addressing both issues, have helped pursue grants for maternal health, and am researching funding to address food insecurity.

I also believe Booneville can become a place where people want to spend their weekends and vacations. We are surrounded by the Ouachita and Ozark National Forests and just 30 minutes from Mount Magazine, home to Arkansas’s highest point. We have ATV trails, fishing, hunting, horse trails, a thriving downtown, Airbnbs, and we are home to drag racer Alex Taylor. With thoughtful growth, Booneville can become a destination people want to visit while remaining a community we are proud to call home.
