As a business owner, youth hockey coach, former graduate from walled lake schools, and parent of two sons in Walled Lake schools. I come with firm roots in our district expanding over generations and want nothing more than the best for our community.

Like many of you, we want the very best for our children and their future.
While I come from a business background as opposed to a more traditional education background, I believe such a background actually will help me in delivering the best version of the WLCSD Board of Education possible.
My business background helps with budgeting, negotiation skills, and creating operational systems to work towards solutions. I am a strong visionary which helps me come up with ideas for growth but I also am great at maintaining operations and holding accountability.
I’m running because WLCSD families deserve better. Our families deserve a Board of Education that works with them.
Our district is lacking three huge opportunities for our children which is trade school support, competitive growth in sports, and restore reading/ writing methods ahead of the 2031 mandates.
1.) Trade school and Non-degree career - I plan to expand education pathways across the district. I would like to have more classes offered within the schools. While we partner with OTC , the waiting list is extremely long and students do not all have an opportunity to attend.
2.) Sports growth is important because it helps students grow friendships, healthy lifestyles ,and allows a positive environment. If I am elected I would request we have an individual role of an athletic director that is properly interviewed for our needs.
3.) Restore reading/writing methods ahead- I would address bringing back phonics, tutoring assistance for students, and more funding for teachers training.
My family and I are active members of the community with two young children in Walled Lake schools. I am a graduate of MSU from the College of Education and I am the daughter of a para professional. I have been volunteering in our district for the last 5 years and have developed close relationships with other parents, teachers, administrators, paras, PTA members and students. I have seen the needs of our schools firsthand; I have approached teachers and administrators to see what their needs and concerns are to find where and how I can help. I was nominated by our staff and PTA and received an award from the PTSA this past spring, acknowledging my volunteer work. I often attend and speak at our board meetings in addition to our monthly PTA meetings. I have spoken on behalf of the teachers of Walled Lake when needed to solidify their contracts. I am the co-chair and coach of an afterschool program which promotes healthy habits, physical fitness and social and emotional learning.
Student safety, ensuring families have open communication with their schools, providing mental health support, building security, and providing education for students and families on digital wellness.
Financial transparency, providing our staff and community with the information we deserve to know.

I am a proud graduate of Walled Lake Schools – from Head Start to High School. My wife and I reside in White Lake, and we have two children in the district who attend CHS and WLN. I have dedicated over 20 years to public service in numerous local governments that have provided me with the foundation to lead with accountability, empathy, and integrity. I’ve experienced life as a student, parent, coach/mentor, PTA member, and current elected school board; and I want to help preserve the strength of our district moving forward. I am running for re-election because I want to continue to be a voice that cultivates a community that values collaboration, achievement, and success for all our students and educators. I will be a champion of education, focusing on financial transparency, ensuring open lines of communication, proper mental health support, safety, and a balance between modern technology use, programming, and curriculum opportunities that meet the needs of every child, every day.
1. Financial Transparency. During our strategic planning and budgeting process, we must be forward-thinking and transparent with our needs and funding use. We need to welcome the knowledge and experience of teachers, administrators, parents, and students and commit to collaboration, inclusion, and respect for all stakeholders.
2. Safety and Wellness. We must ensure that families have timely and open communication with schools and staff, and that students are provided with mental health support and special services if needed, and to provide education tools on healthy digital wellness to respond to new technologies.
3. School Achievement and Success. We must provide schools with proper support for lifelong learning and development through collaboration efforts with administrators and teachers that prepare students for life after school in whatever path they choose. We need to find the right balance between modern technology and programming opportunities for every student, every day.
