I was born and raised in Michigan and am a parent of students in Fenton Area Public Schools. In October 2025, I was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education, and I am seeking the community’s support to continue serving. Since my appointment, I have gained valuable insight into the complexities of school board governance and have pursued extensive professional development recognized by the Michigan Association of School Boards. As an emergency physician, I bring experience remaining composed under pressure, objectively evaluating complex issues, working collaboratively, and using data to identify needs and guide decisions. My commitment to Fenton is longstanding, from teaching students CPR and AED use to volunteering at events such as Field Day. I am running to help advance academic success, support excellent educators, and ensure every student has the resources and opportunities needed to thrive.
Academic Success: Fenton has demonstrated strong academic performance, but continuous improvement must remain a priority. I will support measurable goals and data-informed decisions while ensuring teachers and students have the curriculum, technology, training, interventions, and resources needed to succeed.
Attracting and Retaining Staff: Student achievement depends on highly qualified teachers, administrators, and support staff. I will promote a culture of excellence where employees feel respected, valued, and supported. I will advocate for competitive compensation, professional growth opportunities, and the tools staff need to excel.
Enrollment: Declining birth rates, cost of living, and broader demographic trends are affecting enrollment. We must retain students and attract families by sustaining excellence in academics, athletics, extracurricular programs, student services, and facilities. We must also clearly communicate the opportunities and value Fenton schools provide.
