The role of Mayor is multifaceted, and its duties include:

-oversight of daily operations for the city, -leading accessibility and transparency for the residents, -financial planning and forecasting, -advocating for your community at a local, regional, and state level, -servant leadership, -celebrating your community on its wins, big or small, -actively creating and participating in spaces for citizen engagement, -courting business growth to increase the city's revenue, -meeting and engaging with all employees, not just department heads, -ensuring that information is being dispersed to the public in a timely manner, -and being the champion of your community.

My professional background is in healthcare administration at a multi-million dollar private surgical practice in NWA, where I had around 30 employees reporting to me. I was responsible for the daily operations of the clinic, HR, payroll, A/R, A/P, budgets and budget forecasting, contract negotiations with insurance payers, HIPAA compliance, and patient advocacy. My days always included actively checking in on my staff and ensuring that they had the tools and resources needed to succeed.

I've thrown myself into service as a community member by being a docent at the local museum, sitting on the Board for the BVPL Foundation, serving as PTO President at Cooper Elementary, as a Rotarian, and serving as a member of City Council since 2023.

Bella Vista is woefully behind in our staffing needs for our fire department, based on national best standards. Per recent discussions with our newly formed firefighters union, we are currently 15 employees short, and that's before you add in the additional 18 needed to staff fire station number 5 in the next few years.

I will lay out a plan to appropriately staff our department, as quickly as we can financially, while pursuing grants provided by FEMA (like the SAFER grant and AFG grant) to help fund our staffing shortfall.

Having a fully staffed fire department won't happen overnight. But we have to lay out the plan today for the future.
