Run for Something, Mom's Demand Action for Gun Safety
The City Council proposed ordinances and resolutions for the city. Ordinances are more like laws, and resolutions are more like statements or ways we want to be as a city. The Council also approves the budget for the city, as well as appoints and removes members of boards, committees, and commissions that serve the city. City Council members also serve on committees like the transportation committee, and the water, sewer, and solid waste committee.
I bring a combination of community-based experience, professional skills, and a deep understanding of Fayetteville to this role. I’m a longtime Fayetteville resident, mom of three, former teacher, and current social worker. My work in poverty reduction has given me firsthand experience with how policies and systems affect families and their ability to thrive. I’ve developed strong skills in listening, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and navigating complex systems. Through my work professionally and in volunteer roles, I’ve built community, organized projects, and worked alongside people toward shared goals. I’m a lifelong learner who values expertise, asks questions, and does the work to make informed decisions.
When I take office, I want to bring residents into the conversation about Fayetteville's growth. I'll make myself accessible to Ward 3 residents, actively seek out their ideas and concerns, and work with city staff, experts, and fellow council members to turn that input into thoughtful policy. Fayetteville is growing quickly, and I want our community to have a meaningful voice in deciding what that growth looks like.
