I am a graduate of a skilled-trades apprenticeship program and have worked in the trades since 1998. My leadership experience includes serving as a union steward, general foreman, Sergeant at Arms, and member of my union’s Executive Committee, where I have been involved in negotiations, contract matters, and related union business.

I am running because every student in Chippewa Valley Schools deserves an education that readies them for college, skilled trades, military service, or the workforce. After years of attending board meetings and reviewing district decisions and spending, I have seen the need for greater transparency, accountability, and communication with parents and taxpayers. I want to help restore trust, improve proficiency in core subjects, and ensure district resources are focused on student achievement and preparing every graduate for a successful future.
The primary issues facing the board are low academic proficiency, declining enrollment, responsible use of taxpayer dollars, and rebuilding trust through greater transparency. If elected, I will push for clear, measurable academic goals, regular public reporting on results and spending, and budgets that prioritize classrooms, teachers, student safety, and proven programs. I will also support stronger skilled trades, career and technical education, and workforce partnerships while ensuring parents, staff, and community members are heard before major decisions are made.
The district has safety measures in place, but no board should simply assume they are adequate without continuous evaluation. I would support regular security assessments conducted by trained professionals, clear emergency protocols, staff training, coordination with first responders, and prompt correction of identified vulnerabilities. The board must also communicate openly with families about safety improvements while protecting sensitive security details.
The district offers some valuable career and technical education opportunities, but I believe we can do more. As a skilled tradesman for more than 27 years, I understand that apprenticeships, certifications, technical careers, and military service can lead to successful futures. I would support earlier career exploration and stronger partnerships with local employers, trade unions, community colleges, and apprenticeship programs so every student graduates with a realistic plan and the skills to pursue it.
