Maine's people are its strength, but affordability and quality of life are slipping. Our greatest challenges: the cost of living, which I'd tackle by raising the Homestead Exemption and expanding the Property Tax Fairness Credit for working families and renters; infrastructure, where targeted investment in roads, bridges, the grid, and broadband improves safety and our economy; and education in the age of AI, supporting teachers while building students' critical thinking. As a father of three, small-business owner, veteran, and former prosecutor and defense attorney, I'll bring objective, evidence-based leadership to Augusta for every constituent, regardless of party.
Senate District 34 is unique because it contains communities with dramatically different property values, household incomes, and economic circumstances. That disparity creates challenges for how we fund education and provide essential services. A family’s ability to pay should not determine whether their child has access to a high-quality education. Our current school funding formula can place significant pressure on property taxpayers in communities where valuations do not necessarily reflect residents’ ability to pay. We need a fairer, more responsive funding system, while also addressing the broader cost-of-living pressures facing families, seniors, and small businesses across the district.
I am running for the Maine Senate because I believe Maine needs servant leaders, from a younger generation, with real-world experience who are willing to work across the aisle and solve problems. I have served in the U.S. Air Force for over 14 years and continue to serve as JAG officer in the reserve. As a father of three young children, attorney, part-owner of a small-business owner, this is not a convenient time to run, but it is time for younger leaders with a personal stake in Maine's future to lead. I understand the pressures facing families, seniors, employees, and employers. I will bring fiscal prudence, and a commitment to returning politics to a center-left and center-right approach, which is where the majority of folks land.
