Maine’s greatest challenge is that the building blocks of a secure life are increasingly unaffordable.

Housing, groceries, childcare, healthcare, energy, and property taxes are stretching families, older Mainers, and small businesses. These pressures worsen our workforce shortage and make it harder for young people to build their lives here. We need more housing, accessible healthcare and childcare, fairer tax policy, strong schools, and investments that create safe, healthy communities. We also need leaders who will move beyond political extremes, work across differences, and make government more responsive to the people it serves.
Lewiston is facing a level of youth gun violence no community should accept. I would pursue statewide crime-gun tracing, ballistic-evidence reporting, cross-agency data sharing, and evidence-based prevention focused on young people most at risk. Lewiston also educates students with widely varying needs while local taxpayers shoulder high costs. State funding must reflect the real costs of multilingual learning, special education, poverty, and student mental-health needs. In return, we should expect evidence-based curricula, transparent measures, and stronger academic outcomes. Lewiston students deserve an excellent education, and local property taxpayers should not carry an unfair share of providing it.
My commitment to public service is grounded in lived experience. I was on my own at 16, and learned early how hard work and public systems can either open a path forward or create another obstacle. I have worked three jobs while raising young children as a single mother. I know what it feels like when housing, healthcare, groceries, and childcare are beyond reach. I have since built a business, led the Chamber, raised four children, and served Lewiston. I bring resilience, practical experience, and a deep belief that government should work for everyday people.
