Recycling Millage Renewal PropositionThis millage is a renewal of the previously approved millage and will permit Otego County to continue to levy up to 0.35 mills ($0.35 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) to provide funds for the operation and maintenance of the Otsego County Recycling Drop-Off Program, recycling education, and all costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the county-wide recycling program.Shall the County of Otsego be authorized to renew the previously approved millage for recycling purposes of up to 0.35 mills ($0.35 per $1,000.00 of taxable value for a period of four (4) years, 2027 through 2030 inclusive, to provide funds for the operation and maintenance of the Otsego County Recycling Drop-Off Program and recycling education, including all costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the county-wide recycling program within Otsego County, Michigan?If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $634,917 in the first year of levy (2027).By law, the City of Gaylord Downtown Development Authority (DDA) may capture a portion of the County's millage revenue generated from properties located within the DDA district to the extent provided in its tax increment financing plan and any applicable statutory exemptions or optout provisions.
