I have been an Atlantic Beach resident for nearly 50 years and have spent over a decade actively following local government; including attending city commission meetings, workshops, and advisory board meetings. I served as co-chair of Atlantic Beach Preservation, served on the Mayor’s Council on Health and Wellbeing, have volunteered at ABE and supported other nonprofit organizations in our community. I have researched city policies, budgets, and long-term planning to better understand the challenges facing our community. Most importantly, I am committed to listening to residents, studying the issues, and making thoughtful, informed decisions that serve the entire community. If elected this will be my full time commitment.
The two most pressing issues are preserving the character and quality of life that make Atlantic Beach unique while responsibly planning for future growth, and maintaining the City’s long-term financial health. We must protect our neighborhoods, parks, tree canopy, and coastal environment while also addressing traffic flow and public safety along key transportation arteries and commercial areas. At the same time, we need to ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with changing needs. Careful budgeting and long-range financial planning are essential to ensure we can continue providing high-quality services without placing unnecessary burdens on taxpayers.
I bring a combination of experience, preparation, and commitment. I have invested significant time learning how our city operates by attending meetings, reviewing budgets and city documents, and listening to residents. I believe effective commissioners should be approachable, respectful, fiscally responsible, and willing to consider all perspectives before making decisions. My goal is to represent all residents with integrity and transparency, while helping preserve the qualities that make Atlantic Beach such a wonderful place to live.
Growth throughout Northeast Florida brings both opportunities and challenges. Atlantic Beach benefits from a strong regional economy, but we also need to be mindful of increased traffic, infrastructure needs, environmental impacts, and development pressure. Since we are largely a built-out community, it’s especially important that we protect neighborhood character, take care of our natural resources, and make sure any future growth is thoughtful, sustainable, and consistent with our long-term vision.
These challenges are all connected. Growth and regional change affect traffic patterns, infrastructure, and community character even when development happens outside our city limits. That’s why thoughtful planning and strong financial stewardship matter so much at the local level. By staying engaged with residents, protecting our natural resources, and making careful long-term decisions, we can preserve what makes Atlantic Beach special while preparing responsibly for the future.

I bring more than 30 years of leadership experience combined with years of direct service to the City of Atlantic Beach. My professional background includes operations, budgeting, human resources, and facilities management. My education includes an MBA and MHRM from UNF, certifications in HR and ongoing education in sustainability. Through my service on the COAB Community Development Board (2 terms), Parking & Pedestrian Safety Advisory Resource Committee, and Charter Review Committee, I've gained firsthand experience with the issues facing our city.
Stormwater management, environmental stewardship - strong public works - are among our community's highest priorities. We must continue improving drainage systems, reducing flooding risks, and preparing for sea level rise and stronger storms. Protecting our dunes, wetlands, tree canopy, and other natural resources while supporting responsible, sustainable development is essential to preserving the character and resilience of Atlantic Beach. At the same time, we must invest in maintaining and improving our critical infrastructure, including roads, water and sewer systems, and other essential public facilities.
My leadership experience is HR, operations, project management, and facilities management. My education includes an MBA and MHRM, professional certifications in HR, and am a Certified Facilities Manager. City service includes the Parking & Pedestrian Safety Advisory Resource Committee, the Community Development Board, and serving as Secretary on the Charter Review Committee. My prior professional and city service underpin my ability to analyze complex issues, manage budgets, build consensus, & make thoughtful, data-driven decisions. Having a collaborative approach, practical problem-solving skills, knowledge of development standards, and municipal governance have prepared me to serve with integrity, transparency, and sound judgment.
The unprecedented growth presents both opportunities and challenges for Atlantic Beach. While growth can strengthen our economy, expand employment opportunities, and increase the resources, it also places greater demands on our infrastructure, public safety, natural resources, and quality of life.
AB is fully developed, we must focus on managing growth thoughtfully and responsibly. Maintaining and improving our infrastructure - roads, stormwater systems, water, sewer and public facilities should be a focus. Preserving our dunes, wetlands, tree canopy, and parks support our resilience and community. Balance investment that enhances AB while ensuring new development is compatible with our neighborhoods and infrastructure.
Our greatest opportunity is to plan proactively not react to growth. By investing in resilient infrastructure, practicing sound financial stewardship, and engaging residents in the decision-making process, we can preserve the character and maintain the character and resilience of our community for future generations.
