First, the cost to health insurance for school staff needs to be lowered which has been achieved in multiple states through Reference Based Pricing. Second, Vermont needs a clear vision of what we want our public education system to be before moving forward. Third, let's look at all of the services that fall under the school budget and decide if we want to continue funding these services through the schools, or if they should be funded separately from property taxes or shared community resources and organizations. This is one of Vermont’s biggest challenges and will require a multi-pronged approach.

We need to maximize growth in areas where there is already development so that we don't need to create new roads and can plug in to the existing infrastructure. Communities can look at what responsible growth can look like in their respective areas, using guidance of experts on growth and development and conservation.
