Over my nearly 20 years as mayor, I successfully guided our population expansion by holding developers accountable for funding infrastructure, and I will bring that same "pay-as-you-go" fiscal discipline to our school district to protect your hard-earned tax dollars. Combined with my 35 years of corporate financial experience and nearly three decades as a classroom professor, I have the unique professional and educational background needed to optimize our budgets, support our teachers, and ensure our schools grow responsibly.
The issue is twofold: compensation and accountability. High-quality teachers must be paid well to attract and retain them, while low-performing teachers should be addressed through Lake County Schools’ state-mandated evaluation process. When needed, a Performance Improvement Plan identifies deficiencies, provides targeted support, and sets clear timelines. Teachers receive coaching, professional development, and observations; if standards are still not met, the district may issue reprimands or decline contract renewal. This approach balances support, accountability, and Florida due-process requirements.

I believe that when a child is hungry, they simply cannot focus on learning. At times, personal pride may prevent students from asking for help or requesting food. The district’s free breakfast and lunch program levels the playing field by ensuring every student is treated equally. For these reasons, I fully support making every effort to renew this grant or explore alternative options to keep this essential program in place.
I am endorsed by Sheriff Peyton Grinnell and School Board Chair Bill Mathias. As a school board member, I will strengthen district success by supporting teachers through a developer‑funded fiscal model that protects the budget and directs more funds to teacher pay and classroom resources. With 35 years in corporate finance and experience as an adjunct professor, I will promote efficient, conservative fiscal practices and support broad educational choice.

I have taught and coached at elementary, middle, and high school levels for the last 30 years. I am currently still teaching so I know what the system is doing well and where it needs to improve so every child can succeed. I have worked in high and low socio economic schools so I understand they may have different resources and needs.
Improving pay for educators and discipline support is a priority. I will also implement a dual enrollment education program that offers high school students to take electives in high school that intro to education courses in order to give them an opportunity to tutor struggling students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Students can not learn when they hungry. We have to make sure that students who do not have food at home have an opportunity to eat a school.
I have dedicated the last 30 years of my life making sure that I did everything in my power to help every child in classroom reach their full potential. Now it is time to ensure that every student my district has the opportunity to become INCOME PRODUCING CITIZENS WHO ARE LIFE LONG LEARNERS!
