Summit Township Fire and Police Service Millage Increase
It is proposed that the Summit Township police and fire millage be increased by 1.000 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) to provide additional funding for police, fire, and emergency services, including equipment, within the Township. If approved, the Township could levy up to 1.9623 mills for police, fire, and emergency services, providing about $1,845,000 in total funds for those purposes in 2027. The increase alone would raise about $945,000 in the first year it is levied and would last from 2027 to 2036. Should this proposed millage increase be approved?
