East Lansing City Charter Amendment III
III. PROPOSAL TO AMEND EAST LANSING CITY CHARTER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE CITY MANAGER To align the Charter’s residency requirements with changes in state law and to update executive leadership roles in the City’s administration, shall Section 7.2 of the East Lansing City Charter be amended to provide that the City Manager reside within twenty-five miles of the nearest boundary of the City, to provide for the City Manager to designate a Deputy City Manager who must be approved by City Council and permit the City Manager to designate a department head to serve as Acting City Manager during the unavailability of the City Manager and Deputy City Manager?
