As an attorney and business owner, I’ve built my career on accountability, problem-solving, and making sound decisions - skills that are essential at the county level. I’ve worked closely with local businesses and understand the real challenges our community faces.
As a fifth-generation Floridian, father, and member of this community, I’m committed to being thorough, responsive, and delivering results.
Infrastructure and accountability. Traffic and capacity remain significant concerns, and it is essential that we ensure our roadways keep pace through thoughtful, forward-looking planning. Equally important is maintaining strong accountability in county government - ensuring taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly, contracts are carefully reviewed, and decisions reflect the long-term interests of the community. My focus is on addressing these priorities proactively and delivering measurable results the public can rely on.
My legal training and professional experience as a business owner have provided a strong foundation for this role. As an attorney, I have developed the ability to analyze complex issues, review contracts carefully, and ensure accountability - skills that are directly applicable to the responsibilities of county government.
In addition, my experience working with local businesses has given me a practical understanding of the challenges facing our community. I approach public service with a commitment to being detail-oriented, accessible, and responsive, while maintaining a focus on thorough analysis, forward-looking planning, and delivering measurable results for the public.
The pace of development in Northeast Florida presents both challenges and opportunities. Increased demand is placing pressure on infrastructure and public safety, requiring disciplined planning and careful oversight. At the same time, it creates opportunities to strengthen our local economy - supporting small businesses and agriculture, and attracting quality jobs. County leadership must approach this with a long-term perspective, ensuring decisions are made responsibly and in the best interests of the community.

I am the current County Commissioner, and for the past 4 years I have slowed the growth, cut taxes, reduced clear cutting, successfully advocated for services such as libraries, and I have proudly represented YOU.
I previously was Governor appointed and confirmed by the Senate to serve on the Citrus County Hospital Board.
I am an award winning Author and College Graduate and a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). I am a Gold Star mother who lost my son KIA in Teleskop, Iraq fighting ISIS. His name was Charles Keating IV and awarded the highest honor of the Navy Cross. His sacrifice inspires me to fight for veterans and also for my community and our quality of life.
1. Continuing to slow the growth as I began to do four years ago. Prior to my election, (from 2020 to 2022), St. Johns was the fastest growing county in the state. I was elected at a time when our heavily developer-funded commissioners were approving close to 100% of developments of undeveloped land that came before them. Residents #1 issue was to slow explosive, unchecked growth, and that continues to be the top issue for our county.
2. Preserving the tree canopy, including the Guana Reserve as our county’s growth continues. I fought hard for a 14-point tree ordinance that included reducing clearcutting from a very high 95% for PUD’s. The developer-controlled majority on the board gutted that ordinance, caving to developer interests.

The challenges presented by unprecedented growth are significant: traffic congestion, overcrowded schools, increased number of portable classrooms, enlarged class sizes, loss of our #1 school rating, reduced water quantity and pressure, higher taxes, loss of wildlife habitat due to excessive clearcutting, loss of the rural character of our county, loss of farmland - our food source and reduction of water quality in our rivers.

The opportunity is to protect what’s precious to our county - the reasons that so many of us live here and love St. Johns County. I will keep my promises to my voters and continue to fight for you,
Lived in the district/county for 36 years, with 30+ years of local expirience at the Sheriff's Office. Degree from Flagler College and many leader schools to include the FBI National Academy training.
Over development/traffic and lack of strategic planning.
As the Director of the jail for my last 5 years I managed 200+ employees and a $22 million budget that was able to return about $1 million back each year.
Our infrastructure has not been put in place before developments were built.
Too many times our roads are not able to keep up with growing traffic and upgrades are not started until the roads are already overloaded.
