Judge of Probate District 37

Connecticut’s Probate Courts protect the rights of individuals and ensure care, safety and community-based solutions for thousands of our most vulnerable residents and their families in times of need. Probate Courts handle a wide range of sensitive issues affecting children, the elderly, persons with intellectual disability and individuals with psychiatric disabilities, in addition to their traditional role of overseeing decedents’ estates and trusts. In Connecticut, a probate judge must be a resident of the district they serve, a certified member of the Connecticut State Bar, and be actively in good standing. Hamden, CT 06514
I was born and raised in Hamden where my wife and I raised our 3 children. To uphold my alma mater, the U.S. Military Academy’s, mission statement of committing to a lifetime of service to our nation, I work to make our community a better place for all to live. Evidenced by my community service, including my tenure on the Hamden BoE, the Hamden Democratic Town Committee, youth baseball and hockey coach, as a boxing trainer for aspiring young athletes and as a member of the Board of Directors at Ring One Boxing. I also serve on the New Haven Road Race Board of Directors and its president.
I currently serve as the Hamden-Bethany Judge of Probate. In addition to my duties as judge of probate in the courts, I volunteer as a member of the Probate Court Administration’s ethics and forms committees. Since graduating from law school, I built a law practice serving the often-underrepresented members of my community and established my law firm in Hamden. I have spent my career representing clients in various legal matters, including probate, criminal defense, personal injury claims, and residential real estate transactions. My interest and commitment to probate law dates to my law school days. At that time, I actively participated in the publication of the Connecticut Probate Law Journal, including having scholarly commentary published in that Probate Law Journal. My dedication to the practice and scholarly review of probate law continues to this day as evidenced by my teaching probate law at Quinnipiac University .
