MIDLAND COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) RENEWAL AND INCREASE PROPOSAL
This millage proposal, if approved, would allow the County of Midland to restore the previously approved millage of 0.65, which was reduced by application of the Headlee Amendment’s required tax rollback to 0.6405 mills, and levy up to, but not more than 0.65 mills during the term.“For the purpose of continuing to provide emergency medical services, shall the County of Midland renew and increase previously voter approved amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed for all purposes upon real and personal property in the County of Midland, as authorized by Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 1963, as amended, which has been reduced from 0.65 Mill ($0.65 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) to 0.6405 Mill ($0.6405 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) by the required rollback, up to the original voted 0.65 Mill ($0.65 per $1,000.00 of taxable value), and levied for the years 2027 - 2030, both inclusive, which if approved and levied in its entirety is estimated to raise $2,856,715.00 in the first year?”
