SERVICES TO OLDER CITIZENS MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL

This millage proposal, if approved, would allow the County of Midland to levy up to, but not more than 0.8869 mills during the term, which was reduced from 0.9 mills in 2025 by application of the Headlee Amendment’s required tax rollback."For the purpose of providing the services to older citizens (60 years or older) in Midland County through the Council on Aging, an agency authorized by 1976 Public Act No. 39, shall the County of Midland, Michigan (hereafter 'County' renew the previously authorized amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed for all purposes upon all taxable real and personal property in the County of Midland, as provided in Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 1963, as amended, which last resulted in a levy of 0.8869 Mill, and continue to levy up to 0.8869 Mill ($0.8869 per $1,000) of taxable valuation (reduced from 0.90 Mill by application of the Headlee Amendment) of such property as finally equalized during the years 2027-2030, both inclusive, which if approved and levied in its entirety is estimated to raise $3,897,877 in the first year."
