Shall the previously authorized increase in the tax rate limitation on all taxable property in Sparta Township, Kent County, that expired in 2025 be renewed and the Township be authorized to levy a millage annually in an amount to exceed .2375 mill ($0.2375 per each $1,000 of taxable value) against all taxable property in the Township for a period of ten (10) years, 2026 through 2035, inclusive, to provide funds for operating, maintaining, and equipping the Sparta Township Library and for all other library purposes authorized by law? The estimate of the revenue the Township will collect if the millage is approved and levied in the first year of levy (2026) is approximately $106,000. The revenue from this millage levy will be disbursed to the Sparta Township Library.The following is for informational purposes:If approved and levied, this millage will raise an estimated $106,000 in the first year of the levy (2026). The revenues from this millage will be disbursed to the Sparta Township Library as required by law. To the extent required by law, a portion of the revenues from this millage (approximately 4.4% in the first year of the levy) will be captured within the district of and disbursed to the Village of Sparta Downtown Development Authority.
