The biggest challenges facing North Las Vegas are the rising cost of living, housing affordability, and ensuring public safety as our city grows. Families are being stretched thin, and too many feel like growth isn’t working for them. I’ve managed a billion-dollar state budget through both a deficit and surplus, and I’ll bring that same disciplined approach to City Hall. My focus is expanding housing options, supporting local jobs so residents can work close to home, and ensuring public safety investments keep pace with growth so every neighborhood feels secure and supported.
I will use the city’s tools to expand affordable housing and protect residents from being priced out. That includes reviewing development agreements to ensure they include attainable housing, supporting infill development, and holding corporate investors accountable when they buy up single-family homes. In the Legislature, I helped secure funding for affordable housing, supportive housing and eviction diversion programs to keep families housed. As mayor, I will focus on increasing supply, protecting renters—especially seniors—and making sure growth benefits the people who live here.
Addressing homelessness requires both prevention and long-term solutions. I supported eviction diversion programs that keep families housed before they fall into homelessness, and I will continue that approach as mayor. We need to strengthen partnerships with service providers, expand access to mental health and supportive services, and ensure resources are coordinated effectively. I believe in a balanced approach—connecting people to services while also maintaining safe and healthy neighborhoods. Preventing homelessness in the first place is one of the most effective strategies we have.
