Clark County Family Court Judge Department R
Family Court Judges preside over cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, guardianship, domestic violence protection orders, and juvenile matters. These judges make decisions that directly affect families, children, and vulnerable individuals, often during highly sensitive and complex circumstances. Family Court judges are responsible for applying Nevada law fairly while balancing the best interests of children and ensuring due process for all parties. Because their rulings can have lasting impacts on family stability, safety, and individual rights, these races play an important role in maintaining fairness, professionalism, and public confidence in the family court system.Note: This is a nonpartisan race. PLAN
My personal experience being divorced and coparenting with an ex for 16 years prepares me for the emotional aspect of every family case appearing before me. My professional experience as an attorney for over 16 years, with the last 12 years being spent in family law, grants me the qualifications to serve. I’ve handled more than forty trials covering every family law area such as divorce, custody, child support, etc. But it is my even temperament which I believe qualifies me the most. Typically people are appearing in family court on the worst day of their lives, and they need stern but fair guidance to navigate their trauma and crisis so their family can heal. I stand ready, willing, and able to serve my community in this important role.
My judicial philosophy will be rooted in procedural fairness. Before I make any decision, my job will be to ensure that both sides have a full, fair opportunity to be heard, that the evidence is weighed impartially, and that the final order is firmly grounded in applicable statute and case law. A judge’s role isn’t to invent new laws, but to apply the law as it is written, consistently and predictably, so that families know what the rules are.
I believe that everyone should be treated equally regardless of their gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, or class. I would never enter a case with a personal agenda or a desire to make policy from the bench. Instead, I would enter every case with the simple desire to apply the facts to the law. My goal will be to ensure that whenever a party leaves my courtroom, they feel that they were treated with respect, that their evidence was considered impartially, and that the law was applied fairly.
