I have served as your Washington County Trustee for the past two terms. Prior to running for Trustee I was in banking for many years working with both large and small banks. During that period was involved in both lending portfolio, sales and overseeing a diverse market in Tennessee.

First, I would tell you that the Trustee is the banker for the county. We do not place values on your property or set the annual tax rate. Those responsibilities fall under the Assessor's office and your County Commissioners. While we have accomplished several goals set earlier I would like to grow our prepayment program that allows taxpayers to have their taxes for the next year electronically withdrawn from their account which would help eliminate a lump sum payment at the end of tax season. Another benefit for our taxpayers is the ability to make partial payment on current year tax bill. Buy allowing partial payments helps to reduce the full payment at the end of the tax season.
