Proposed Tax Levy (Renewal and Increase) Clermont CountyA majority affirmative vote is necessary for passageA renewal of 0.8 mill and an increase of 0.2 mill for each $1 of taxable value to constitute a tax for the benefit of Clermont County for the purpose of support of children services and the care and placement of children that the county auditor estimates will collect $5,072,133 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $23 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2026, first due in calendar year 2027.Clermont County Children’s Protective Services is mandated to investigate allegations of child abuse and neglect. They strive to preserve families through education, treatment, services, and support, while also ensuring the safety and care of children who are placed into foster homes or residential treatment facilities.A levy renewal with a 0.2 mill increase will cost a household with a $100,000 valuation an additional $6.99 per year. This small increase is needed as the current effective millage is not sufficient to meet the rising and projected costs of placement-related services.
