Occupation Stark County Commissioner
Qualifications for this office Current Stark County Commissioner; 14 years as Stark County Auditor; 15 years private industry and banking
I have worked in retail environments since I was 14 years old, starting in my family’s business. The most valuable lessons learned have been finding ways to become a better listener and to solve problems. I can think of no better traits required to serve as your County Commissioner than being an empathetic listener and helping people with issues that matter to their families and businesses. I have found a knack for making government more responsive and accessible, with an emphasis in acting with transparency and integrity. I would be honored to continue this work for four more years.

Education BA from West Liberty State University in Elementary Education. MA from Mount St. Joseph University in Classroom Management. Vocational Endorsement from Kent State University 7-12.
Occupation I am a retired teacher from Northwest LSD with 32.5 years of experience. Currently 3 term Mayor of Canal Fulton. Licensed Realtor with Hayes Realty 29 years. Evangelical Christian.
Qualifications for this office As the mayor I oversee the Police, Fire/EMS, Finance and City Manager Departments. I have successfully organized, led and passed the City’s Income Tax Reform in 2019. I have managed over $20 million of infrastructure improvement, brought new businesses and over 100 new homes to Canal Fulton.
I have led income tax reform in Canal Fulton and I will lead property tax reform for Stark County. I propose to eliminate the reappraisal process and use the purchase price of a property to establish the TRUE value for assessed taxes. So that, your property tax WILL NOT change from where they are today until you sell your property or new levies are passed. Currently, we are being taxed on unrealized gains without having a vote. Elderly people are being taxed out of their homes. And, current office holders have done nothing to honor the Republican Party’s platform of smaller government, less regulation and lower taxes.
