Stark County Issue 14: Plain Township Parks Levy
Renewal, 1 mill, parks and recreational purposes, 5 years, commencing in 2026.Plain Township is asking voters to approve the renewal of an existing levy for parks and recreational purposes. The 1 mill levy would commence in 2026 and be in effect for 5 years. It would not increase costs to property owners, continuing to cost $22.23 for every $100,000 in assessed property value. The levy will continue to support management, necessary improvements and recreational services.Plain Township maintains 130 acres of park land, including jogging/walking paths, ball courts and fields, playgrounds, an amphitheater, a splashpad, picnic shelters and a dog park. The Plain Township Parks administration takes great pride in their efforts to keep operational costs down for residents by driving revenue of approximately $360,000 per year from rentals and programming. Plain Township’s recent growth in recreational amenities has been the result of donations, grants and partnerships. For more information visit the Plain Township Parks and Recreation
