I bring over 20+ years of real-world business leadership and problem-solving experience. As a local business owner and real estate broker, I’ve managed budgets, created jobs, and helped grow our community. I’ve served on regional economic and real estate committees, working directly on policy and development issues. My background combines hands-on experience, financial accountability, and a deep commitment to Nassau Bay’s long-term success.
The two biggest challenges facing Nassau Bay residents are rising costs—especially property taxes and insurance—and the need for smart, sustainable economic growth. First, too many homeowners are feeling squeezed. I will work to grow our commercial tax base so the burden doesn’t fall so heavily on residents. That means attracting high-quality businesses, supporting redevelopment along our waterfront, and ensuring projects like new office, retail, and hospitality developments add long-term value to the city. Second, we must manage growth the right way. Residents want improvements—but not at the expense of our character, infrastructure, or quality of life. I will focus on responsible development, improved drainage and flood mitigation, and ensuring traffic, noise, and infrastructure are addressed before projects move forward. My approach is simple: grow smarter, protect homeowners, and make every decision with long-term value in mind.
I would suggest that we invest the $5 million in projects that deliver long-term value, reduce risk, and lower the financial burden on residents. First, I would prioritize flood mitigation and drainage improvements. Even targeted projects—like increasing capacity in key areas, improving outflow, or strategic dredging—can significantly reduce flood risk and help stabilize or lower insurance costs for homeowners. Second, I would invest in waterfront and economic development infrastructure that attracts high-quality businesses to recruit to Nassau Bay and increases our commercial tax base. This could include site readiness, public improvements, and partnerships that make Nassau Bay more competitive for office, retail, and destination projects. Finally, I would allocate a portion toward critical infrastructure upgrades—roads, utilities, and bulkhead improvements—ensuring our city is prepared for both current needs and future growth.
Beyond economic growth and flood protection, I want to focus on the everyday quality of life for Nassau Bay residents. Traffic is a growing concern, especially with new development. I will work to ensure proper traffic studies are completed before projects move forward and push for smart solutions like improved signal timing, better ingress and egress planning, and coordination with regional partners to keep traffic flowing. Public safety is always a priority. I will support our police and fire departments with the resources they need while also promoting proactive safety measures, strong emergency response planning, and community engagement. With the Margaritaville development, it’s critical we get ahead of potential impacts. I will advocate for clear standards on noise, traffic flow, and operating hours to protect nearby neighborhoods like Bal Harbor, while still allowing the project to succeed. Overall, my goal is balance—supporting growth while protecting the peace and safety.
