Free and fair elections are the foundation of representative government. I support policies that make it easy for eligible citizens to vote while protecting the integrity of the process. Ohio should maintain accurate voter rolls, ensure transparency in ballot handling and counting, and allow convenient options like early and absentee voting with reasonable verification standards. I also support reducing unnecessary barriers that prevent independent and third-party candidates from appearing on the ballot. Voters deserve real choices, open elections, and a system that prioritizes fairness, accountability, and public trust.
Ohio’s tax system should be simpler, fairer, and less burdensome on working families and small businesses. I support reducing or eliminating property taxes, which force people to continually pay the government just to keep the homes and land they already own. Local governments should instead rely more on transparent consumption-based taxes that allow people to control how much they pay. Ohio should also reduce income tax burdens to encourage job growth, investment, and entrepreneurship. The goal of tax reform should be to let Ohioans keep more of what they earn while ensuring government remains limited, accountable, and focused on essential services.
The rising cost of living is largely driven by government policies that increase the cost of housing, energy, and everyday goods. I would focus on reducing those pressures at the state level. That includes lowering taxes—especially property taxes that raise housing costs—cutting unnecessary regulations that make it harder and more expensive to build homes or run small businesses, and supporting policies that keep energy affordable. Ohio should also review spending and eliminate waste so taxpayers are not forced to cover ever-growing government budgets. The best way to lower the cost of living is to allow people to keep more of what they earn and remove barriers that drive prices up.
My priorities for education are strong academics, parental choice, and affordability. K-12 schools should focus on core subjects like reading, writing, math, science, and civics while giving parents more control over where their children are educated, including public, private, charter, and homeschool options. We should also expand career and technical education so students who want to enter the skilled trades or workforce have strong opportunities. For higher education, colleges must address rising costs so young people are not forced into debt before even starting their adult lives. Ohio should also support trade schools, apprenticeships, and workforce training so students have multiple paths to success.
I believe elected officials should focus on representing their constituents and the Constitution, not simply following party leadership. That means being willing to work with anyone when it benefits the people of Ohio.
Transparency and accountability can also help reduce division. When legislation is debated openly and voters can clearly see how decisions are made, it encourages more honest discussion and less political gamesmanship.
Finally, we should encourage more competition in elections by reducing barriers for independent and third-party candidates. When voters have more choices and more voices are represented, politics becomes less about two parties fighting each other and more about ideas and solutions. Civility improves when government is focused on serving the public.
